For those moms this applies to, what was your experience with natural water birth? I'm worried about the pain but want the best for my son/daughter and I also have heard other moms say that epidurals cause long lasting back pains, longer recovery, ECT.
Can't wait! :)

I tried for a water birth but it ended up slowing my contractions down so I had to get out. It does hurt, like hell! But having a natural childbirth was one of the best things I've ever done! Read "Ina mays guide to child birth" it really motivated. Try it, if it becomes to much get the epidural ☺
@jae.gravez11, I asked for an epidural. It hurt like hell. By the time I asked it was too late and it was time to push. It worked well. I got what was in my plan completely by accident
@jhalsted1995 yes the contractions are my primary worry. Gotta power through with all I got for sure.
I really am not wanting any pain medication. Just to keep my baby as healthy and safe as I can. Scary, but a sacrifice I'm willing to make. :) I heard the water helps a ton with the pain. I hear a lot of women prefer water birth and most put it over bed birth and less labor time. Which is making me feel very comfortable.
Try it! If anything you can always get the epidural if it gets to bad, up to a certain point lol. It did mess up my back badly
I had an epidural with no side effects best experience I've had in a hospital
I didn't have a water birth, but I didn't have any pain medication. Honestly I feel like the contractions are the worst part. Pushing wasn't that bad and it didn't hurt that much. Once the baby is out the pain faded so fast.
Research it .. I think that's a great idea and plan on one for my next(if I have another).. You should go for it.. Some women do have a lot of back problems and some dont .. Just be still when the needle is inserted because if you move you can cause them to stick the needle too deep and that's what causes problems. @tiffani.robertson91 .
Congratulations and good luck!!😀🙌
I've had 5 natural births... 2 were water births. I labored in the water with all of them. The water certainly helps with contractions BUT all the pushing sensations are the same and really, pushing is the easiest part. No joke. Each baby I got SUPER excited once that urge to push happened. Then I just knew I was actually able to start doing the work to give birth and not just laboring.
I don't feel attached one way or another to the actually pushing in the tub. However, with my last, she had a short cord and she was tangled in it. pushing her out in the water made it so much easier to untangle her while I pushed. She literally just spun herself out of the cord quite effortlessly.
