Not necessarily. Someone flagged it to be removed. It can be as simple as someone being mad at the person posting the ad and flagging it for removal just to be a pain in the a$$. But definitely do your research on who you are renting from. Coming from someone that not only had to take a landlord I met on Craigslist to court to get money back, but is also still battling to get the money over a year later, I recommend you guys be super diligent and very cautious when renting from someone on Craigslist!

@kaela3, just be super super careful. The people we met(and we physically met them and saw the property)turned out to be complete slum lords and the entire house was uninhabitable. We took them to court. And are still having to take her back to court over a year later because she refuses to pay us what we won in court. To the point where if she doesn't show up for the next court date, she'll be arrested

The house is beautiful but I literally don't want to even send the people the money because of it being taken off of the Craigslist site... my boyfriend even said it seemed a little sketchy... they said to take a picture when we do the money order and send it to them and the person he told me to send it to he didn't even give me an address.. just the city state and zip code.. @savvysmama,

Using someone else's name, not using the correct address or even spelling the town correctly. Something doesn't seem right. Is it going to a PO Box?

@kaela3 that the post was deleted... what happens is people take photos from houses that are vacant and for sale off the internet then they makes posts on CL and steal your money... they dont usually do anything with the info (DL, Address, etc.) Unless you gave them your SS #, bank account and other "personal info" then they could try to steal your identity but with just the DL and address they cant do much

When they get flagged it usually means their account is blocked because of fraud / my husband got scammed 900$ before by someone / so I wouldn't trust it .

Call the realtor tomorrow. Make sure they own the property. Then find the number for the attorney and call. If that checks out, you may be ok
