Has anyone ever drove from Belfast to Aberdeen direction? Or even the same amount of miles with a 5 month old? We're due to move to Edinburgh on the 7th of April but we don't actually get our new house until the 10th so we're going up to stay with my oh family for a few days. We're planning on getting the latest ferry over then going up through aviemore but we have the milestone car seat so we were going to put Leah in that instead of her we maxi cosi one. My question is after how many hours should we stop? We're planning on travelling through the night in the hope she will sleep most of not all of it. Pic for attention

@alexmcatamney, the ferry will probably help because you won't be confined to the car so you'll be able to get her out and have a wander etc. I find when we drive to my mums at night charlie sleeps the whole way. With traffic it's just shy of a 4 hour trip for us but in a good day we do it in around 3. Good luck with it! I don't know how I'm going to cope now charlie is on cows milk, will have to be stopping aaaall the time to heat his milk up! X

We drive to london regularly to visit my family which takes about 3 hours. We find we just stop when we need to. She sleeps most of the way x

@jo.wilcox, thankyou, once we get off the ferry it's about 4/5 hours so hopefully will only need to stop twice x

It's not as far but my mums is about 195 miles away and we go up there once or twice a month.. we fill Charlie's bottles up half way with cold water, then take a flask of boiled water to fill the other half when he needs a bottle and it's just the right temp.. our journey in time isn't as long as yours so we rarely need to stop but they say they're allowed to be In their seats for 3 hours before they need to come out for a stretch. Just keep an eye on her and obviously if you're starting to get uncomfortable/ a numb bum she more than likely is too. No need to take hour long stops, just enough to take her out, have a stretch and change her nappy :)
