Trying to give my son Vitamin D Drops is the absolute worst... He always chokes on it, spits it all back up, gets a super snotty nose from it, and we both end up in tears :( Any advice?
@mandi.marie yes, she never seemed to notice. Just do a little at a time and it should work
When I was first giving it to my daughter I would just slip it in the corner of her mouth while she was nursing and slowly gave it to her
@cbass102513, thank you for the heads up... I'll try mixing it in with his milk and if that doesn't work, I'll give it another try in a week or so
My son was the same way...even when we mixed it with his milk. Our pediatrician just said to wait a few more weeks...he was able to handle them at about 10 weeks
@xoninaxo, oh wow, I didn't even know there was a kind like that... We were given the kind with a syringe and I have to have Leon take 1ML a day, which is quite a bit for him to suffer through
Thank you ladies, I will definitely make sure to mix it in with his milk from now on!
Can any of you offer any advice on how to start on a pumping schedule?
@beebaby, unfortunately I was not told to put it in his milk, but as much as the drops look and smell like iodine, I cannot blame my poor baby for gagging it all back up... I feel like I've been torturing him the last 2 days!
@beebaby, I'm gonna have to from now on because it's breaking my heart having to watch him struggle through it and not even keep all of it down... Did yours notice any difference in the milk with it mixed in?
@ecahanes, I've never heard that one... I'll have to give it a try, thank you!
@liz.2832, I'm exclusively breastfeeding and haven't quite gotten a pumping schedule set up to always have milk on hand... My son is very demanding and I don't get much time in a day away to pump, or even shower or use the bathroom lol
@mandi.marie no problem :) it's easier than trying to pump when you exclusively breastfeed.
