@mc.squared okay he said baby should be born protected. I just read a story about a baby passing and if his mom would have got it he would have been OK. I am sure it's not like e the flu shot is it?

I got mine in last trimester.. and baby got her own at 2 months

No, not like the flu shot. Was shot for sure, made my arm a little sore for a day or two but that's it. No symptoms otherwise :)

@dawnrose ah okay just turned it down I needed to ask ppl about it because I never got it with my other two pregnancies .

I tried to get it while pregnant but medicaid didn't cover it at the pharmacy so I waited until I went to the hospital to get the vaccine. Just as long as you get it right after you give birth your baby will be fine @zuly2312

I got it during my pregnancy and my daughter is perfectly okay ! Good to have the immunity in your child when born because they can't get it during the hospital stay , atleast that's what I thought about !!

My husband even got his, and his flu shot before baby was born. Lol

Myself, hubs and parents all got TDAP and Flu shot before baby was born. For you it passes protective antibodies onto the baby until they can get vaccinated. Pertussis is life threatening to newborns.

It's weird my ob didn't tell me everyone that will be around my baby has to get the vaccine @zuly2312

My doc said something to me about it around 32 weeks. They gave me mine and I made my mom and hubby go get it

I made everyone get it, me husband, grandparents, aunts and great grandparents if they wanted to see the baby because pertussis is no joke

I live in Ky, I got it, my hubby got it, and I made my parents and in laws get it and said anyone that wanted to see him needed to get it. He was born in January. Pertussis is an awful thing, a friend of mine lost her son that way.
