I'm used to working 20hrs or more a day. So to go from that to a stay at home mom has left me soooooo bored! I need a hobby. Any suggestions?
@energizederica21 thank you so much for the sweet compliment
@energizederica21 I was thinking about making some business cards and handing them out for like bday, graduation, and any other kind of celebration cakes. I should probably get an Instagram so I can post pictures and list it on the business card
@2-mommies, you are naturally gifted. I can see that the art comes out in your baking
@2-mommies, You've got to start somewhere! I think those cakes look amazing and you could totally make some money off of them and others
My mil loves pigs. I handmade everything but the KitKat. Including the molding chocolate I used to mold the pigs @energizederica21
@2-mommies, well maybe not as Eastery with pigs swimming in mud on top!haha but wow. Those pigs look awesome! I can't even believe you made that yourself! Super awesome 😍
I've actually been thinking about doing that. I went to school for business bc the ultimate goal was to own my own little restaurant some day @energizederica21
@2-mommies, oh my! My boyfriend would devour that KitKat cake hahaha It makes me think of Easter though ☺️
Would you start your own baking business online? That'd be a sweet hobby that pays!
@2-mommies, that's almost too scary to eat haha
I have a few other cakes I've made. One of my favorites to make was the murder mystery cake for a murder mystery dinner the hotel hosted for a banquet
@2-mommies, I literally just died. That sounds frickin amazing!!! And I was actually thinking that might be the theme here. Love love love that show.
It's game of thrones. The throne itself took me three days to make. It's made out of fondant. The cake is red velvet with cream cheese frosting@energizederica21
@2-mommies, omg what kind of cake is that?!? It looks amazing!
Lol since I got pregnant in November@energizederica21
@2-mommies, hahaha I'm sure she sees how thankful you by how hard you work. But you've definitely got to find things you really enjoy to keep balance ❤ How long have you been staying home?
Lol yes she is very amazing and I'm so blessed that she works so hard for us. I do everything I can so that she has nothing to do around here. And yes she says that since I have been home to cook for them instead of at work, she has been the one gaining the pregnancy weight lol @energizederica21
@2-mommies, that's so amazing. You've got an amazing wife to be willing to do that and you deserve it with how hard you've worked pretty much your whole life. Art is awesome! And what a great family activity too. You can do all kinds of stuff with that. And I gotta say, who doesn't love cake?!haha Bet your wife loves your baking as well as your cooking!
Before kids I was really into art and my kids are now too so from time to time we draw together. I still enjoy working on new recipes and I have been dabbling in decorative cakes lately. I will take blogging into consideration lol. Before my wife and I decided to have more kids we sat down and did a strong budget and came to the conclusion that we can afford for me to stay home with the kids and baby off of her salary. We did lose a huge chunk of our income having me not work anymore but with some small changes, we have been able to make it work comfortably @energizederica21
@2-mommies, that's so sad how much you worked! Awesome you were so respected and depended on but no one should have to give up that much time for work.. How are you able to stay home now? And I agree with the wifey! You could teach your ways and share your love for food! But is that really what you loved before kids? Nothing comes to mind thinking before you had to step up and make so many sacrifices?
I definitely gave up a social life. I also had to give up family time. Working as many hours as I did meant never being home. And when I was home my phone was constantly ringing. If it wasn't one cook it was another. I was the chef at a hotel. I worked so much that I had my own room so most nights I wasn't even able to go home @energizederica21
No I don't blog or anything like that. I don't even write my recipes down unless it was for a new menu for work. My wife fusses at me all the time that I should write them down for other ppl @energizederica21
@2-mommies, wow that's pretty darn impressive. Are there things you had to give up (besides a social life lol) when you had your blessings? You've been hard at it since then it seems. That's awesome you love to cook! I wish I was better at it myself lol Do you blog at all? I love learning how to cook through blog posts lol
Hahaha 20hrs a day not week @energizederica21
Lol unfortunately my oldest came while in highschool and my youngest came not long after. So I was busy chasing a toddler while pregnant, much like u. A few years after that I was in the army. After that worked full-time and got my bachelor's. Been working 20hrs a week as an executive chef so cooking is pretty much my hobby @energizederica21
@2-mommies, oh so true! I bet your kiddos are pretty self sufficient at this point 🤣 Heck, do they have chores too?lol Well, is there anything you used to love to do back in high school or college? Before your first two littlest ones came into your life?
My kiddos are older. It's been a while since I had to chase around a 2yo and to be pregnant while doing that. Girl you have your hands full @energizederica21
Ugh I swear I'm tired of forgetting to tag ppl damn pregnancy brain @energizederica21
I'm a busy body by nature. Most of the time I find it next to impossible to sit down and relax. I usually start my day around 5am and from 5am to 6am is when I relax with my one cup of coffee that I allow myself, then I get kids in order and walk them to school. The school is a mile away and has a mile track around it so I walk my miles after dropping them off and then come home and usually finish house stuff by noon then I'm bored lol
@2-mommies, gosh and between house work and kiddos, you have time for more hobbies?lol I need to get my life together I guess 🤣
9 miles is about 3 hrs @energizederica21
@2-mommies, holy moly!! That's incredible! I can't imagine that's a quickly done task lol
I'm a long distance runner. Being pregnant I have switched to walking. I go for really long walks anywhere between 6-9 miles weather permitting
Do you like to workout? :) I fell in love with at home exercise when I became a stay at home mama!
Yea I was thinking about giving it another go bc of YouTube lol it makes everything easier @marskhaos
girl there's youtube step by step instructions:) that's how i learned
@marskhaos hahaha I keep forgetting to tag ppl today
I tried that a few years back lol I felt like I needed an instruction book for the how to book
@2-mommies, yes!! Get it girl! You'll learn what works!
