Alright ladies I need some opinions.
Alice's dad pays $60 a month for her diapers and wipes. That's usually it. And he comes to see her whenever he feels like it (which was 1 hour on Valentine's day for the whole month of february)
I want to start Alice in dance classes because she'll love it. But it's $50 which would be hard for me to cover because I only get $300 a month which pays for daycare, clothes, medicine etc. whereas her dad makes full time tips at a good restaurant in town.
SOOO would you ask dad to pay for the whole dance bill? Half of it? Or just find a way to pay for it yourself?
@aliakr you could file and the state would do a paternity test. After that he would have to pay. BUT he would also be given visitation rights to your/his daughter
oh okay! I don't think I can get child support though since I didn't put him on the birth certificate.. @wendy1224
I can't believe you have to wait so long for a court date. That's awful!
@aliakr make sure your documenting all your conversations with him and save receipts of whatever you buy for your daughter
It was really easy, I went and filed and I get periodic updates in the mail. He got served his papers. My state bases it off the day we stopped living together which was over a year ago, and buying diapers/wipes doesn't count towards what he owes. So he already owes a full year of back child support
how does that while child support thing go? my child's father hasn't bought a single thing for my daughter... @wendy1224
@kenitra no worries, I filed last August. We're just waiting for a court date 👍
I would go to court and get the monthly child support you and your daughter deserve. It's his child and his responsibility. You shouldn't have to ask for $. That's ridiculous.
I would let him know you're signing up for dance classes and legally she's only half his responsibility so I would ask for full but only expect half.
