So we got this crib as a hand me down from my sister & SO keeps complaining how much he doesn't like it & that it's chinsy. Is it that bad for a baby boy? I say if we can save the $200-$300 why not?? Well at Burlington today we seen a dark colored crib for 200 & he says to go buy it... But I really don't think this one is that bad?!?

@mberjuste5 yea i got an appt so there's no room to move it else where Lol but we both agree that it's not part of the cribs that were recalled.
I say save that 200 lol... But you can mayb put that handy down crib in the living room or ur bedroom.. We have two cribs .. One crib in our room and one in the baby room. We also got a play pan in the living..... Sooo havng more then one wont dont any harm especially if you have a big house and the space for it...
@madisonmommy318 thank you, just a bit shocked that my sister just bought this brand new 3 yrs ago & to hear all the hype of their recall & their risk of being dangerous
But of course If it's something your not 100% comfortable with, Then get rid of it. just keep in mind due to it being recalled, it is illegal to sell, and Goodwill and other places will not accept them.
They were used 30plus years ago with no problems. you can get kits to not make them slide, Or just screw it so it doesn't. Risk is something about kids falling out (which I don't see cuz it doesn't go all the way down) or getting their head stuck. but again I don't see how since there heads will be a hell of a lot bigger then that small space. no way to get head in. I personally have a drop down crib. I got the kit for it, so it doesn't drop down now.
@katiesmiles1 I thought about painting it too but it's not that bad to even go through the hassle of making sure it's sealed properly or w.e. bc ovbs babies put their mouths on it etc so to me it doesn't need it that bad to cause any risk. @viiviian.aiide I think it's a keeper, it may just need to grow on him tho he has wanted a dark since we found out we were having a boy. So we'll see, I did say if he wants it that bad then he's more than welcome to buy 1 himself & I'll tell my sister to come get this one. But now a little worried with what these ladies are saying about the sliding assembly being a risk or recalled.
@raquely yes it slid down to assemble there is a top part & a bottom part u need to align to slide on properly. Then at it's ends ((where it slides)) it has the stoppers that I can't slide the rail down any further with full pressure the only way u could slide it would be up. Make sense??

You can also paint it and make it new , it looks like it's in good condition
@raquely Oh this one doesn't slide down like that. U can only slide it down to assemble it. But has sturdy blockers on it so the only other way to slide it is by pulling up on it.
@emmysmommy I said the same thing. But makes it more harmful without being done professionally. After I said it I also didn't feel comfortable with it.
I believe the ones with the sliding sides were recalled or no longer made because kids could fall, and I think it was only in the last few years.
@raquely really?! I feel I just seen some at Baby's R Us this past weekend, & my niece ((who got the original crib)) is only 3 & they got it brand new at that point. Now I'm gonna have to look into the assemble information, bc yea it does slide in one on top other on bottom.

But we also just spent 350 on everything else for the nursey. & he really only wants dark colored one. Used or not I guess is not what matters to him. But I'm a bargain kinda girl. So any way I can save I prefer to save! Lol but it did raise a little concern with the paint that's chipping on the sides/ 1 the rails near the top.
So long as it's sturdy, recent, and you don't have to worry about the paint chipping or anything, I'd say save the money. But if he really, really wants to spend extra money, let him go buy it.
That's a cute crib. I think with a little work . It would be great. And it comes with a changing table. There nothing better than that. 😂😂❤️ but she's right!^ it is good if he wants good things for talks baby.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
I want to have a baby so bad and my boyfriend feels the same but says hes not financially ready...so does welfare have to be paid back?

I know this sounds sooo fkedup but sometimes i wanna get into a bad accident so my husband sees exactly all the things i do ... and how wrong he is by saying i don’t do enough ( not in those words but the jist of it ) anyway .... i think this all the time . Maybe then he will think differently .
@raquely we gave that a try yesterday too &it doesn't separate at all or rock/ move in any way to cause the issues they show online of why cribs got recalled.
