I really want to exclusively breast feed.. my baby doesn't latch well an i can't pump more than 4 oz a day. I was to stop using formula but I have no idea how to increase my supply no matter how many times I power pump, put baby to breast, pump every 2 hours. my supply never increases as a fact it's dropped I'm barely getting 2 oz a day now :'( I feel like my body is failing me

@aliakr, why dairy? I thought I had to but my dr said the more I expose her to now the less likely she'll have allergies later.

Мама дочки-младенца

Мама дочки-младенца
I'm gonna try those ! @patti28
Marilu·
Oh and stress will too. I'm going to have to lock my husband in the shed outside so he can't stress me out anymore. lol
Marilu·
Are you well hydrated? I cut out a lot of caffeine because it will slow down your milk production.
Gina·
@aliakr don't beat yourself up about it. You tried and are doing what you can, like pumping. At the end of the day, as long as she's fed and getting her nutrients to thrive, that's what matters. There are plenty of ways to bond with baby. ☺

I try these things to boost supply:
1) eat steel cut oatmeal
2) drink Gatorade and coconut water
3) mothers milk tea
4) milkflow drink mixes

I actually tried making lactation cookies but they didn't help. I'll look up a lactation nurse for help! hopefully I can give my daughter all I can..@t142

Yeah its so stressful an hard.... I guess we all can't be successful with it. but as long as our babies are fed an happy it'd all that matters. what pump do you have ? @luceromommy

Мама дочки-младенца
Yeah i feel the same way. that's half of the reason why I feel like a failure...my family gets so upset knowing I give my child formula cause I'm not satisfying her...an hee dad is even worse... saying how bad of a mom I am an that my body doesn't work. thank you for that ...it really made me feel better. I'm gonna give her what I can an the rest is formula. I'm still a good mom regardless @sarahbelle

And try a lactation nurse. 😕

Try eating lactating foods: oatmeal, hot chocolate, fennel seeds. Buy the pills and take them. Get the mother's milk tea.

My love isn't latching well either, so I pumped but like you it's not getting any better. She lost 9 percent of her body fat so I supplemented with formula. Now she hates my boobs. So I keep pumping. I just want her tummy not to hurt and keep her healthy. Even if it means formula.

I think there's way too much pressure on women to breastfeed. I feel like women are made to feel bad about themselves and feel like failures if they can't. But please just remember there's nothing wrong with supplementation. A fed baby is best, and if you have tried EVERYTHING and still need to supplement please don't be so hard on yourself! you're doing great lovely. I'd say get in touch with a lactation consultant and see if they can help, if it's something you're truly passionate about. But if it's just because you feel like a "failure" please know you're not and there's NOTHING wrong with it. ❤ good luck girly!

Ugh I feel like it'd my fault... I decided to breast feed her when she was 4 days old an she latched at 1 week old then stoped taking the breast so I've been pumping since @ginz

Мама дочки-младенца
yep ! she takes a nipple shield after screaming a while. but she just falls asleep an then screams like she didn't get any milk ... which I don't blame her it's looking like I have a bad supply. .. Idk what to do. there's no lactation consultants here around me@b3autifulm3ss

@aliakr have you tried a nipple shield?
Gina·
That sux. It you're still determined, it's prolly worth seeking help w your doctor or a Lactation Nurse. On the upside, at least you're making an effort! G'luck mama!

Yes I've tried fenugreek, lactation supplaments but they never worked only caused my little one to have stomach pains an issues @ginz
Gina·
Have you tried taking herbal supplements? MotherLove More Milk or Mother Milk Tea?
