feeling like moving to California to stAy with my best friend.. but ONE major thing is holding me back.. my kids dad! if I go, I feel like he'll try taking my kids from me & I don't want thAt nor do I trust him to care for them alone. he stays with his mom in Kingman & I do NOT trust her for anything! I barely even want her around them because she's a damn liar and crazy...

am I being selfish? I just want to do better and my family is scattered, but I know my best friend will be there for me..

If there is no court involvement you can legally leave without his consent

@allyk.xmommy what if he tries to get custody?

he calls (the house phone) every now and then claiming to want to hear about them, but most of the phone call is about our relationship which I gave up on after so many tries.. He called on vday & said he was gonna visit Saturday & never showed or called. he called Sunday night "a little buzzed" at 3am saying he wanted to talk to our daughter.. he knows I ALWAYS try keeping her on a schedule so she's asleep at night UNLESS she's sick. and I asked why he was talking dumb & he told me he was buzzed and his mom took him to the casino. (it was his birthday on the 19th.) whenever I tell him WE ARE OVER & I want to focus on me and our kids ONLY, he says some shit about "I'm gonna be taking them for weeks as my right."

Do you like in AZ? Until there's court paperwork legally he can't take them and you can do what you want. Maybe try a trail run and see how it works

No. Untill there is papers staying otherwise, you can go. You can take it to court, but make sure you prove his worth in their life. How often he actually sees them, how much he financially helps with them. Everything.

Keep all of the proof of the things he did that make you uncomfortable with him being unsupervised around them. I'm having the same issue with my daughter's father. He was abusive and claims if I "take her away" he's going to file for custody so I know how it feels to have your child taken from you. But In your case you need to do what's best for your children. So if that means moving then move. You don't have to let his mom see them if you're not comfortable with it. Not sure about the laws on grandparents right out there but here in California as long as a relationship hasn't been established there's nothing his parents can do to take your kids or stop you from leaving. Part of being a good mom for your kids is your happiness. If you're not happy you can't be the best parent possible. Good luck and hope it all works out for the best 💕💜💋
