When you are breastfeeding how will you determine if your baby is actually feeding or just sucking for comfort?

the suck swallow pattern will change. when baby is nursing they will swallow often, after they finish feeding they will continue to suckle but swallow a lot less often!

When the baby is actually feeding you can hear they gulps/swallow listen for tht, tht helped me alot.

I was told if you didn't feel them sucking after 15 seconds that they are just comfort sucking.
