Hey beautiful mommys! I have a question that I hope some of you can help me with. I am a first time mommy. I have a 10 month old daughter who refuses to finger feed herself and refuses to hold her own bottle. She has the ability to do these things. She just doesn't want to. My question is, has anyone else gone through this with their children? How do you get them to start feeding themselves? I try to show her by picking it up and putting it to my mouth hoping she will imitate but she won't. I try to put her own hands towards her mouth and she resists with everything muscle in her little arms. Lol. Same when I try to put her hands around the bottle. I'm not sure what else to do. Any suggestions? Or stories?
Thanks @beebaby! She basically just smushes things in her hands. She doesn't bring anything to her mouth. With her sippy cup I try and have her hold it but she pulls her hands away. Haha so I put it in front of her and she tries to put it in her mouth but doesn't know to tip it up yet. She's just very resistant to holding her own bottle or cup. And with food she just likes to smash it lol. I assume she will eventually learn. But, it's just so frustrating 😊
I would start with a sippy cup with handles and give her that for her milk and juice and so on. Just keep giving it to her and making her try. When you sit her in her highchair with a snack, what does she do?

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know
the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
Can anyone help. My daughter is almost 11months old and she refuses to hold her own bottle. How do I get her to hold it on her own
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
would you
Slap someone's hand away from your child after witnessing their fingers in their mouth?? I would and I did today. Crazy lady was telling me that my dd's pants were too tight. (They are perfectly ok). Then she decided to tell me about all her dental problems. ( Really do not care about your mouth unless your MY patient) Then this crazy lady tries to touch my dd after having her hands all over her nasty teeth and mouth! So I slapped her hand away. She was offended and told me her hands ...
Well Mama's I got a question for y'all ok my homegirl trying to get pregnant what she have to do
I would put her hands on the sippy and lean her back in your arms. Let her do it that way. Even hold it with her maybe. But I used to help my son at first and then he did it himself. Same with food. They really wanted to do it themselves.
