It's always driven me crazy how people say not to carry/cuddle/hold your baby too much because it causes them to be too dependent and for some odd reason babies need to be "independent." I'm going to carry my son when I want, babywear when in public, and cosleep as long as I want because he won't be little forever and I'm cherishing these moments while they last.

I can agree with that as well! @raquely, lol although right now I'm loving cosleeping, my son is already a bed hog so I can just imagine when he's 3 or 4.

I agree with @chaaaachix, as well! @leahsmommi, even at 5 months my son has more independence than most and is SO social. He's perfectly content playing by himself for a while and then he will start babbling when he's bored and ready to be picked up and I can pass him around to other people and he loves it! Everyone's always commenting on how well behaved it is and in the back of my head I'm always like "hehehe it's because I'm spoiling him 😈" lol and that's so cute! I can't wait until my son can make me pancakes.. still got a long way to go lol.

I agree w @chaaaachix, I've been told so much for taking care of my love like this. Idgaf she's mine and if I want to co sleep till she doesn't want to I will. Lol. She's six and just getting used to her own bed and still goes to ours every night. I baby her but she's so independent. She is like. Mom I can do it. She's made me breakfast (pancakes) w supervision of course and brings me food to snack on when I'm busy and haven't ate. There is no right and wrong way to raise a human being.

I think it's the opposite.. if you do this, they'll grow more independent faster.. I feel like kids that don't get much affection tend to glue themselves to in and crave it so much more when they get a taste. Kids that always get it end up knowing of it and the feeling, but are curious what other feelings they get and what they could do without it. If that makes sense?

Seriously! I couldn't agree more and each time I set my 8 month old daughter down and she cries I always pick her up and just say to her, "awww you need a hug!" and just hold and cuddle her and she immediately stops crying it just melts my heart. I just can't see how some mothers can just ignore their babies. I completely agree with you to cherish these moments while they last!
