So they switched my sons formula for the 5th time. Now he is on elecare. He HATES it. It takes him almost an hour and a half to eat 4 ounces! They have got to try something different! Do something for the lil guy!
1. similac pro sensitive - terrible gas
2. similac fussiness and gas - constipated
3. similac total comfort - spitting up too much and no weight gain
4. Nutramigen - diarrhea and spitting up
5. elecare - spitting up too much and hates it.
My son aint even 3 months old yet. this is a bit much!
his pediatrician referred him to a GI maybe 3 weeks ago. His GI switched him to Nutramigen which was the worst one yet. Now he's on Elecare and 2 medications. Ranitidine and Karafate. I've already told them his history with formula. He's not lactose intolerant cause they've done stool samples. I tried to tell them that my 2 oldest had soy, but they wont listen. I don't have the money to buy formula. Which is why I'm on wic. I wish they would at least try it @beebaby
@beebaby yeah hes not satisfied but even if i fed him just an ounce, he would spit the majority of it up. i burp him every ounce and to burp him i typically go through 2 burp cloths and then grab a recieving blanket cause he is basically just throwing up.
I use enfamil AR it stopped my daughter from spitting up and no diarrhea or constipation
yep @beebaby ive tried doing 2 or 3 ounce feeding but hes not satisfied and cries til he gets more
@jessicarose0602 i have had a lot of people tell me about it but now they've switched him to this hypoallergenic bullshit and its worse! i wish they would either try that or soy.
@beebaby yeah he burps every ounce and he sits up while eating and stays like that for 30 minutes after jes done. they want him to be still to try to let it settle after hes done
similac alimentum is what my daughter is on and she likes it. they had to switch her 3 times before they got it right and she's had no issues. she used to be constipated and/or spitting up on the others before they switched her.
doctors measured it. hes spitting up between 2-3 ounces which aint normal. i havent tried enfamil. im on wic, so doctors are giving me samples until they find the right formula
Spitting up alot at his age is normal no matter what formula. Have you tried Enfamil?
my son has been bad spitting up, he's on simlac sensitive. is there something i can give him to help with the spit up?
Damn. Gas is up to $3.69! How much is it where you live ??
I hate seeing my son spit up so much but doctor says he is normal .. I have tried so many bottles and he spit up on breast and formula . Right now Enfamil gentleease but thinking of switching again .. I feel helpless like I can't do anything to help little guy
My son just turned 4 months and he eats a lot like 5 ounces every 2 - 3 hours is that bad ? Should I start introducing him to cereal ? He's on enfamil formula maybe mixing cereal in his milk will keep his tummy full for a longer time ? I don't want to be over feeding him , he also spits up a lot & sometimes I have a really hard time getting his gases out he randomly gets these tantrums out of nowhere because he has trapped gas & the only way he calms down is if I pick him up and walk around the ...
So lately my son has been peeing through his diapers at night and they get full so much quicker than they used to during the day . He literally just got put into size three not even 2 weeks ago . He’s no where near the weight requirements to size up. And last time I sized up to early he got rashes for weeks . Is this like a stage or something like idk but there’s so much pee 😭😭
I don't remember if infants can take this but my doctor recommended giving my daughter Biogia to help with her bm. Maybe they'd let you give him a little bit of aloe if he gets really constipated again.
