You don't have to, but mine definitely started getting uncomfortable around 5.5-6 months, when I really started to show. If you're afraid of it closing, I had mine pierced for 2.5 years, I'm 9.5 months now and it hasn't closed. You can definitely poke it back through every so often. I plan on putting mine back in after birth 😊

you will feel when you need to take it out, just keep it clean and dont touch it

I definitely would if I had a belly button ring just to be safe from it ripping or getting infected or something
