Anyone have bad side effects with Paraguard? I opted out of Skyla because it releases hormones and ive had a horrible a experience with the Nuvaring which does the same.
My mother warned me that Mirena makes you gain a lot of weight. Did you experience that? @klp16,
I don't think so, I am not worried about it. I feel fine, nothing hurts, and they are regular. If I was in pain, they were irregular or heavy I would be worried. @nashyresto,
@nashyresto, I dint with my 1st one, and with the one I have now, I started getting incredibly light periods 14 months later...
I hated mine. I had it removed after 5 or 6 months. My periods were horrid, I bled for 45 days after not bleeding for 63, it was heavy, painful and smelled like copper (which is the paragaurd). I also hated nuva ring... I stopped that before a week. I vastly prefer my Mirena, yes its hormones but I feel great, super light and regular periods, with my first Mirena I had no period, minimal cramping, I also tend to like the pills, but I forget to take meds and I am inconsitant when I take meds...
Nope. My weight gain was due to crap eating and laziness. I have actually lost 47lbs in the last 10 months with changing my eating habbits and walking. Its true birth control may cause weight gain, but its usually just a few pounds... not what people normally say..
