Lately, our relationship has been struggling due to the fact that our 2yo still sleeps in the bed with us. We have tried transitioning him to his bed by putting it in our room, but no luck. What are some tips to get our little big man to be excited to sleep in HIS bed? TIA ❤

I read a bed time story and put some music on low and it works almost every time. My youngest has went in my room in the middle of the night from every night to about two to three times a month. I see it as progress. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My arms used to have to be wrapped around her in order for her to sleep... that got tiring, so I pretty much told her to get in bed. I softly spoke to her, telling her mommy was here. If she fussed and looked for me, I'd lay her down and say that mommy was here. I made sure she saw that I didn't leave the room and that was enough for her. She'd sleep for a while, wake up, and look for me. She'd get out of bed after a few hours and come lay with me. I just repeated the above. Told her to get in bed and that mommy was here. I just reassured her that I was here and wasn't going anywhere. And then slowly, I would tell her goodnight and leave the room. I slept at the foot of my bed and then, it came to where I could sleep in my bed, comfortably.

and go in there with him at bed time and read him a story and rub his back. You cant expect him to want to sleep on his own at first since hes so used to being with you guys.

also try getting a sound machine or one of those pillows that projects cool stuff on the ceiling

@breloya, how did you get her comfortable with falling asleep on her own? My son currently needs me or his father to rub his back or have some sort of physical contact before he will fall asleep

When I first transitioned my daughter into her toddler bed, I would lay on the floor in her room. I slept on the floor for a week lol. But it helped her to a smooth transition into her own bed and she's been sleeping in it for about 5 months now. You can try sticker charts, like people do when potty training. And after however many nights of being in his "big boy bed," you can reward him with a movie night, trip to the toy store, or something like that.

Ugh! I wish! Lol. Every time I try to encourage him to sleep in his bed, he says "no I sleep in mommy's bed" lol.

That makes sense! I might have to try that. If he falls asleep before we do, we will lay him in his bed and for the most part, he'll sleep there all night. But to actually get him to go to HOS bed himself, is a never ending battle that I eventually give in to.

I know this may sound silly but my mom had to change my sister bed spread to her favorite cartoon and changed some things about her room

Okay mommas, this is our second night home and little Ryder refuses to sleep in his bassinet. I’ve tried swaddling, feeding him before bed so he isn’t hungry, tried 3 different pacifiers, laid him down awake and asleep. Any ideas?? I just don’t know how else to get him to sleep in his bassinet and not in my arms at night. ** I had no problem with my other two boys laying in their beds but Ryder refuses to leave me.**
