Question for moms who weren't married when there baby was born. Did your baby get yours or daddy's last name?
Just curious, my little girl got her daddy's last name bcuz I plan on that being my last name as well. But my parents (mostly my dad, very old fashioned) flipped about it.

It should be your choice as the mother giving birth. People will always have something to say no matter what.
I give my kids their dads last name. I was 17 when I had my first, a boy, and I wasn't married. I have 3 more kids with my hubby and we've been married years before we added to our family. So they have his which is mine also.

Our daughter is getting her Daddy's last name. Regardless of if we stay together or not, she's always going to have his last name.

My SO is complaining to me about it! I like the idea of my last name hyphenated to his. And I want the same for my children unti we're married. I rather have both last names. I like my last name. I'm the only one in my family with the maiden name and i want to keep it along with his last name after mine. My mother says thats a good idea. But no, SO doesn't like it. I told him it doesn't matter because mine and the kids will have both our last name and that's final

We gave my daughter my now husbands last name. A baby should have their fathers last name unless the father is not in picture and doesn't want to be in the picture in my opinion.
