My Birth Story: it's a long story 😊

Okay so my due date was December 29 but my son decided to stay 2 days more so I technically gave birth December 31. So I had a sonogram appointment on the 30th so I went, wasn't feeling any contractions at all but started feeling my lower back hurting. So after the sonogram I had to do a examine to see his heart beats. While I was sitting in that comfortable chair lol the nurse checked how it was going she was like "wow omg Elizabeth you're feeling those contractions? You have really high contractions" so right after that exam was done she took me to the side where labor and delivery is at. The nurse checked how many cm i was dilated turns out i was only 2cm. So i got send home☹️. A couple hours past that's when i started to feel my contractions. So me, my boyfriend and my mom decided to go back to the hospital at 12 at midnight to see how many cm i was dilated turns out i was 3cm. I was getting so impatient. So we waited out. I couldn't sleep at all that night of New Years Eve. So it was worst than the other day so they took me back to the hospital at 10am and turns out i was 5cm going on 6. I was super excited but nervous. So the nurse was talking to me about getting the epidural to help the pain so i decided to take it since I couldn't handle the pain lol. I caught a fever, which is one of the symptoms of getting the epidural. So the nurses decided to break my water right after so i can dilate faster. Hours past since they gave me the epidural, so at 6pm they checked how many cm i was dilated turns out i was fully dilated. I started crying because I was really happy and i was just thinking "im really going to meet my son now" it was the happiest moment of my life. It took me 2 hours to push my son since the epidural was still on my right side😕 and my body was still feeling numb. For those two hours I was pushing I was panicking a little and i kept asking is he coming out lol🤣. My mom and my boyfriend and the nurses was yelling at me to motivate me to push him out lol. Finally he came out at 8:55pm weights 7lbs 2oz. Sadly i caught a infection for leaving my water broken for too long. So right after he was born they placed him on my chest for only a couple minutes and had to take him to nursery/nicu. I was sad because i couldn't have that 1 hour with him on my chest breast feeding him☹️. So after that my mom went home and my boyfriend stood to count down since the ball was dropping 12. Then he left because he couldn't stay the night at the hospital since they don't let people stay after 10pm.
