My son has gotten his third ear infection in the last two months. His grandma watches him two days a week and she's a smoker. She goes outside to smoke, not inside around him. Someone told me this could be causing, or at least not helping, his ear infections. Is that true?

@breezy_, generally it's not but I can recall seeing some grey boogers in the past, I assumed it was just from dirt or something. Now I'm mad!

Yeah, it's an indication of air pollution like smoke, dust, dirt & other particles.
Second hand smoke can stick to hair, teeth, your breath, clothes & any skin in contact with the smoke, then transferred

It is! growing up my mom smoked cig..i always had ear infections as a child..thankfully they have laws now you can't smoke in a car with children

yes it can second hand smoke is even me dangerous than actually smoking. I used to smoke cigarettes but I quit

Secondhand smoke can definitely be a cause of ear infections!! There was a study done on that in babies and it was proven. Maybe you can even find the study and read about it online

Not always true. They can also be caused by laying down to drink or getting water in the during bath time.

@kelsssey, I took cotton balls and pulled pieces off and put them in her ears during hair time. I also sat her up while she was drinking. Helped a lot. We still ended up with tubes though
