@babyj0916, babies definitely have passed away from vaccines, but it is *extremely* rare. I am really skeptical of Indigo Grant, the woman who posted those photos of her daughter. If you look at the hashtags she created for her children #acureformason and #justiceformadison both children look like they were afflicted with the same condition. Some people use vaccines as a scapegoat when looking for a place to pin blame for their child's illness.

Further, it's a bit suspicious that she is not affiliated with any kind of advocacy organizations--the only info available online in regards to her kids are some Instagram posts and a GoFundMe page (which has since been taken down). There just doesn't seem to be any legitimacy to her claims.

@ciraclesmiracle, I just saw it on fb

Personally I haven't heard of babies passing away from vaccines I heard some get real sick

And her skin was real scaly I found that weird to be from a vaccine but who knows

I'm going to have to be the devils advocate here. I absolutely have an issue with people choosing not to vaccinate their kids. Because let's say a non vaccinated child let's call her suzy goes to school with let's says Rachel's vaccinated son tim, Suzy is sick with let's say whooping cough, and coughs on tims shirt, well then little tim comes home from school and holds his week old little sister Sarah, now little Sarah has come into contact and possibly contracted an illness that she is not fully protected against due to another's parents "right to choose." I only used whooping cough as an example cuz my brain hasn't woken up yet. @babyj0916, @katelyn.f11, @ciraclesmiracle, @abeljames2015, @raquely,

@babyj0916, you're very welcome. I don't know if you personally know Indigo Grant (the woman who posted the photos of her daughter who passed away from Serratia), but I did a bit of research on Serratia, since I had never heard of such an infection occurring from a vaccine and the story just doesn't add up to me. The first red flag was when she said it comes from "government vaccines", because there is no such thing as a government vaccine. Serratia is a type of Enterobacteria, which is often found in hospitals (its true that people get it after surgery). E. Coli and Salmonella are types of Enterobacteria, but this bacteria can also cause kidney infections or pneumonia. It's strange that the photos show a baby with scabby looking skin lesions, as that symptom is not consistent with a Serratia infection. Next, this woman has a son who was infected with MRSA (a strep infection which is also commonly found in hospitals) and nearly died. While I don't doubt that her son was infected with MRSA and her daughter tragically died, I find it highly unlikely that her daughter passed away from a vaccine injury.

@abeljames2015, I really try not to get up on my soapbox because I know this is a hotly debated issue, but it bothers me how much bad information gets spread around... and people are literally making life or death decisions based upon it!

My close friend lives in NorCal (hippie country), and there are a lot of anti-vaxxers... her friend was a big anti-vax activist until her child became so sick from Rotavirus that he had to be airlifted to San Francisco. He almost DIED. Yes, vaccines carry a risk. Almost all drugs do, but as scary as it is that your child *could be* the 1 in 100,000, the alternative is far more dangerous

@raquely, also, doctors do not make money from administering vaccines. There's no "Palm greasing" going on between big pharma and doctors to vaccinate children. That is a conspiracy theory and it's absolute junk. In truth, profit margins on vaccines are so slim that many big drug companies sold off their vaccine sectors in favor of focusing on drugs with big profits (daily drugs like diabetes meds, erectile dysfunction meds, drugs for depression, ADHD, etc. etc).

@raquely, just FYI polio is still very much around. It kills and disables thousands of people who don't have access to vaccines in rural parts of Asia each year. We don't see cases of it in the United States because we are protected by something called "herd immunity", which is only effective if a certain percentage of the population is vaccinated from the disease... which is why it's important for 95% of our population to be vaccinated. Before the polio vaccine was created parents had to fear polio every time their child got a sore throat (one of the first symptoms of polio is sore throat).

It's great that your cousin's child is rarely sick, however vaccines protect children from illnesses far more severe than sniffles. Rotavirus, for example, can cause dehydration so severe that a child can die within 24 hours of contracting it.

@raquely, I've always knew about Ebola and Zika. It's all crazy if you ask me. They create these things and then scare people like what's your point?

@raquely, and like I said everybody bodies different

Babies take everything differently

Kudus to your cousins daughter I'm happy for her

I'm not saying nothing is wrong with not being vaccinated it's all up to the parents

I was vaccinated so was my son and my next child will be as well

I believe in it I believe it helps with a lot

Some kids that weren't vaccinated die some live

Same for being vaccinated it's all about the kids body

It's a virus that attacks the spinal cord making people not able to walk. They came out with a vaccine to get rid of it. But now they are having more cases because people are not getting vaccines for it. It use to be a sickness that people got pretty often like how cancer is today. Sad but happens often enough to were people felt it was a norm. Even one of the presidents of United States had it.

That's sad. And it was probably a major mistake that the vaccine company made

With contamination or something along those lines which Are really rare I'd rather deal with those odds instead of dealing with the odds of my child getting polio

I don't let my kids around other kids that don't get vaccines but I don't diss moms that are against them. it puts my kids at risk of sickness and diseases that vaccines can prevent.
