Going to TRY MY BEST to EBF this new baby. Drew only lasted 3 weeks on breast milk because WIC lactationsit and the DR lactationsit were NO HELP! I was bleeding from BOTH nipples and sore as hell. They all just kept telling me still let him latch on and use lanolin. It wasn't helping at all! So any tips from EBF moms on getting it right this time?

relax relax RELAX. let baby do his thing. my son only lasted 3 weeks as well cause I was so stressed and worried about his latch and supplementing with formula and everything else under the sun. with my daughter I was a lot more relaxed and she got it right away.

I used a nipple shield bc I had the same problem. And stopped using it's around 4 months. And I bf for 15 months

@curvymommy hes of course not breastfed anymore hes 1 so hes on regular milk but I wanted to breastfeed him so bad. I got alot of shit from his dad and my mom about it cause I had to rely on them for formula for a while cause WIC kept making me BF him until I went off on them. My daughter I want to get better advice and help

it really is just about willpower sometimes. not giving up when things get bad. then just being educated on proper technique. i suggest watching as many youtube vids as possible and reading reputable info like la leche league. and since youre in the city you can use la leche league easily

Use the nipple cream and also try the nipple shield. It's not just for inverted nipple or trouble latching it also protects your nipples. I had to use the nipple shield, my daughter was in the nicu so when I was finally able to get to her, she had trouble latching. It worked wonders and protected my nipples..I also continued using the nipple cream. Hope it helped
