When did everyone stop using the baby carrier car seat and switch to a more permanent car seat for your little one? And…

I changed my lil guy at 8 months to the Graco 4ever.

i have a convertible carseat and i switch my son as soon has he could hold his head up cause me being short i chouldnt carry him in the infant carseat i have a graco and i love it

I was just researching this! My son is getting too tall for the infant one, but nowhere near the weight. He's 26 inches and it goes to 29. The weight is 22 pounds and he's just barely 14. I might be able to get a month or 2 more out of this, but these comments are helpful

My son is 10 months and still in his infant car seat it's up to 30 lbs also it's just easier for me when he's napping just to take the whole car seat even though he is heavy lol just make sure the height requirements are met too. He is 30 in and the car seat is 32 max

I saw that it fits rear facing up to 50lbs. That's great. @mommytoaiden,

Also you don't have to take out the straps to adjust height you just move the head part up! It's so handy!

@cassmatos, I do want to get one that grows with him when it is time. His carrier says it's good for up to 30lbs. I just don't know if I can carry him that long. Lol. He feels heavy now.

We switched when he hit 21 lbs but check your car seat laws some places you can get a ticket for having your child forward facing before 2 I think they are trying to change that to everywhere

My son is a big boy and I switched to a convertible one at 5 months. He just looked too smushed in the other one..as far as front facing we won't be doing that until he is 2 or older and there is a graco extend 2 fit car seat that a tray pulls out of for extra leg room and to rear face longer. It is the safest way for baby to ride 😃 @starienite

My daughter is big for her age. At 8 months I stopped the baby carrier one and bough a car seat that grows with her. She's 11 months now and is in front facing because she is so big. It all depends on your child's height and weight and what you feel is best for your little one.
