@jessyleigh I ran mine in the rinse cycle a couple times at first just because they say it makes the inserts more absorbent! and of course, always willing to help 😊
@annabellasmom, both lol got a 6 pack of diapers and liners for 35$ and then liners for 9.50 :):)
@annabellasmom, @sawyersmomma, thank you girls! Just ordered me some lol. Impulse buy but love the idea and if not well can't hurt to try them out.
No i never have I just use tide lol @jessyleigh,
@annabellasmom, ha I'm already doing laundry once a day might as well add one load to it every other day not bad. Did u guys ever try that cloth diaper cleaner. It's about 80$ but it's for cloth diapers specifically.
And yes they are bulkier but not to much to where they affect clothes
Buying them new I just washed them once.. lol @jessyleigh, and then I do cloth laundry every few days .. all together I have 35 diapers
@sawyersmomma, when will he start to were his? I was doing more reading a lot of prewashes up to three times. Do your Alva need that many too?
@annabellasmom, are they just as bulky as disposable diapers? Ik when I look in stores they seem bulky didn't know if it effects pant size or anything?
@jessyleigh yay!! I can't wait to post pictures lol
@sawyersmomma, I think we decided to make a good choice! Now I can't wait to see your baby in them lol. I love how cute they are! And learned a lot from this post. Yay!!!
Yes me too... she leaked and smelled so bad I felt terrible lol @ciraclesmiracle,
@annabellasmom, I would have to use like 3 inserts to keep my son from leaking overnight, and then it's so bulky it's just ridiculous. Plus he sleeps in our bed most of the time and having your child pee in your bed is not exactly ideal 😂
Yes I agree with @ciraclesmiracle, using a disposable diaper over night is definently a must!!! It saves the liners from becoming really smelling and saves you a hassle as well !!
I use Alva diapers and really like them. I have 18 pocket diapers and I do diaper laundry every other day. I have both the bamboo inserts and microfiber and I like the bamboo way better. I use liners like @annabellasmom, and it really helps minimize the poop. I buy Dandelion brand from Amazon. My husband was not into cloth diapering at all @jessyleigh, and now he loves them. I spent about $200 on my stash and they have paid for themselves about twice over at this point. I buy 1 80 count box of diapers every couple months (for $25) and I use a disposable overnight and also if we are going to be out all day. Plus I buy $10 worth of liners every 6 weeks or so. It's an amazing money saver, plus I love that my son isn't in a chemical-filled diaper 24/7 and I love that I've kept hundreds of pounds of solid waste out of the landfill. Plus cloth diapers are so cute!!!!
You still put inserts in the diapers. The liner goes on the outside against babies butt. Does that make sense? @jessyleigh,
I don't have any currently I have to order out what you do is you stuff the diaper like you usually would(to absorb the pee) and then the disposable liner just goes on top(it would be against the babies skin.. ) so when the little one poops it's goes on the liner and then you just toss the liner and poop in the toilet ...
occasionally a little get on the diaper still but it's a lot better than cleaning the whole amount of poop off the diaper
@annabellasmom, that is mind blowing and such a money saver. Wow. Can u take a picture of what they look like in the diaper. And do u use a lining and then the disposable one on top of. Normal one?
Always put a liner in! You can 200 of them for 10$ on amazon
@annabellasmom, oh that is awesome. Told me husband that he said he would try those u too baby doesn't have to many poops or gets regular to were we know when to put in the lunar. Cuz our son always poops around 10-10:30 and then after lunch around 2 hahah
love that idea!@annabellasmom what's a good brand?
Best choice ever!!! I recommended getting disposable lines though for the poop especially! Makes cleaning easier! All you do is throw it in the toilet and flush it instead of cleaning the poop!
@jessyleigh try pocket diapers then, it's the closet to a regular diaper routine as it gets, after you was them you put an insert in the pocket of the diaper and can have them all ready for when it's time to change the baby. that way all your husband has to do is take the dirty one off, put it in the pail and put a clean one on, super easy! then just leave the washing to you! 😊
@sawyersmomma, I want to but husband doesn't so figured would buy enough and let him test them out lol. He is grossed out about the pooping and having to wash it part (even though I would be the one doing it) haha
@jessyleigh I didn't decide to cloth diaper until after my son arrived, so I'm stocking up now but I wish I had decided to sooner, luckily I still haven't had to buy any disposables!
@sawyersmomma, I have heard good things about them. I should start stocking up now
@jessyleigh it's the alva brand, they've got some really cute stuff!
@sawyersmomma, oh cuz I just love your elephant diaper and bag!
May I ask where u got them from!? I want to do cloth for next baby
@sawyersmomma, thanks hun!! Keep me updated on how well you like and pros and cons!
