opinions about breast feeding while pregnant. the receptionist at my OB told me while making my appointment to start getting her off of the boob, because breast feeding causes your uterus to contract and can cause a miscarriage or preterm labor. any ladies breast feed your LO while pregnant and should I believe the receptionist?? my baby just turned 3 months on the 23rd .I give her breast and formula sometimes. any advice is appreciated👍
@arivera64 I have a 3 months old, and I'm not sure exactly how far along I am. haven't had my first drs. appointment yet lol thanks for giving me a piece of mind, because this lady scared me..
@arivera64 she didn't say miscarriage. just said I would probably be high risk..damn receptionist just freaking me out, having me worried about my un born child.
@mommyx6 I'm definitely going to bring it up to my dr
when I see her on the 9th. I'm not okay with her being all up in my business my mother didn't even say that..she congratulated me but was worried since I had a c section 3 months ago. I was in a good mood, and my hormones haven't gotten to the point where I'm bitchy. if I was I would of flipped out.
high risk as in high risk for miscarriage. Most likely you will be cleared to continue
wtf oh hell no she was out of pocket... I can't believe that I'd b pissed, your stronger than me, I would a flipped out.. who says tht
@arivera64 I might be she also.brought that up to me, since I had my daughter c-section she said you might be high risk. it recommended to wait 3 to 5 years to try again after c section. worrying me again, but followed it with your young tho, you should be fine.
when she checked my file, she was like girl you just had your postpartum appointment, you weren't using protection?? I was so passed I didn't answer she knew it bothered me, she followed it by well they'll be like twins about 10 to 11 months apart. you'll be fine lol
@mommyx6 exactly, I didn't want to tell her I got a positive. that's something you tell your Dr., I asked if my OB was there she said no asked if anyone was there and kinda rudely said no practitioner's are here today. once I told her I was suppose to get blood work in order to get my iud, but got a positive on a pregnancy test. all of a sudden she wanted to know everything and was all nice. giving me unwanted advice..and putting that stress on me knowing I'm pregnant with a 3 months old. lady just do your job, and don't try and be my dr.
@marliemacieowensmomma I think I'm starting to dry out I'll try to breast feed her and she nurses for a bit. then starts getting mad I'm guessing she's not getting enough anymore.
If you are not high risk, there is no reason you can't continue. speak to your doctor
@eryka616 I agree, my dr. is the only one that can tell me if it's okay or not. thank you for the advice
yeah idk why she would say that especially when they rent even nurses lol ugh causing unnecessary stress for us mamas
yes my baby is still little so I definitely. want to continue breastfeeding until she's able to have solids. thank you so much for the advice, I appreciate it
@mommyx6 I want to keep breast feeding until she's able to have solids. then I'll hang the gloves..we will see what my OB says, I know women who have breast feed their whole pregnancy so when the receptionist told me that I was like..wth?? she freaked me out a little
girl your baby is only 3 months you keep feeding unless you experience a problem, I know a lot of moms including myself who have successfully nursed while pregnant no issues
I bf my entire pregnancy my son was 1 and after my daughter was born I tandem nursed 2 for over a year. this time when i found i was preg I tried but my milk dried up, around 18 weeks so I hung up the towel but will deff be bf this baby
For me I didn't have any contractions or anything but my milk production stopped all together at about 16 weeks. That's normal. The hormones that support pregnancy do not support breastfeeding.
@mrs.tayah yes I was thinking, I'm sure she knows some stuff. but she's not a dr. she shouldn't be telling me what I should be doing my dr. should... once I talk to my OB we will see what they think is best. funny story when I went for my postpartum appointment. she said, use condoms don't come back pregnant. I'm going to have a laugh when she sees me on the 9th I know she's going to bring it up. lol
My mom breastfed almost her whole pregnancy but every person is different only your doctor can tell you if it's safe for you or not
@momofdeuce my plans was go breast feed until I started seeing teeth, then getting her off of it. I'm not about to have her bite my nipple when she gets mad. nope, let's see if I'll be able too, once I talk to my dr.
@lezlie527 Okay, I definitely don't recommend taking her word for it. I regret weaning my baby off, if you're able to keep breastfeeding, you should!
@mrs.tayah my OB didn't tell me this, the receptionist when I told her I was pregnant. I went in for my iud but took a pregnancy test before going and got a positive. so I made an app with my dr. and she said to get her off of it. told her she just turn 3 months she said after the 4th no more breast. my nippels don't hurt yet.
I've heard that too but my friend said she knows someone who bf throughout her whole pregnancy and them tandem fed too soo idk would like to hear what other ladies have to say
I breastfed my son 4 months into my second pregnancy. I had no problems like that, my biggest problem was the pain, your nipples are way more sensitive when you are pregnant, and it HURTS. I say if you can tough it out you should do it, but its important to take a doctors advise. Maybe try to get a second opinion from a different OB first, because my OB did not tell me any of that.
What do you mommies think about smoking pot or eating edibles while pregnant/ breast feeding ? Is it bad ?? I wanna try smoking for my nausea and to help me sleep but im not so sure
Hey girlies! I plan on breast feeding my LO as much as I can. I also plan to formula feed when needed. Have any of you moms tried organic formulas? How was it? Experience?
can you get stretch marks on your breasts?? or is it just cause the milk is coming in cause your pregnant?
My doctor also recommended me getting the flu shot while pregnant ? I'm not sure if I want to or if i should ? It's all scary to me !! What do you ladies think ? Did you get the flu shot while pregnant ? Are there any risks? Or should I wait ? I'm so scared of taking anything while pregnant , much less getting this shot.. He said it isn't mandatory , just recommended.
