Grrrr, mommas, I am trying to not lose hope with breastfeeding, but yet again for the past 2 days he is refusing to latch and I am not pumping no more than 35 ml each session. So at each feeding he is lucky to get an ounce of breast milk. And that's with me drinking water, eating oatmeal, and taking supplements. Why does my baby refuse to latch?!? And why cant i produce more than an ounce???

Could he have a tongue or lip tie? Is it painful when he nurses? Babies are usually more efficient than a pump, so he's probably getting more than an ounce.

I agree with @ciraclesmiracle, dont give up it will get better!! And yes ide check to see if he has a lip tie...my daughter has one and we just got referred to surgery.

No, because I asked the pediatrician and the doc in the nicu if he did. he was on a bottle in the nicu cause the first thing they done after he was born was shove a bottle in his mouth. i was hemoraging. so when i tried to breastfeed, he wouldnt take me or the nipple shield. he finally latched last week but its been hit or miss since. now he wont take me or the nipple shield at all and i just want to cry
