Total TMI but I went to the doctor today and I tested positive for bacterial vaginosis (like a yeast infection) and I'm allergic to the antibiotics to help! Do any of you mommies have any home remedies or know of anything besides and antibiotic that will help?!

The MA at my office told me it was like a yeast infection. And no when I take antibiotics i go into anaphylactic shock it's not pretty. I'll call my doctor when they open and see if they have anything else I can take @korahleah_11 @b3autifulm3ss @kyonnsmommy2015
Exactly what @b3autifulm3ss said! It's nothing like yeast & BV needs to be treated with antibiotics. It can cause you to MC if left untreated. Go back to the dr if you think your allergic to the meds, the have a cream you can put up there.
@nebanks1226, there is no home remedies for BV, no it is not like a yeast infection... a yeast infection is a fungal infection, BV is a bacterial infection... you have to talk to the dr and they will give you a different medicine until they find something that works... fyi antibiotics can cause yeast infections (it's very common) so if that is why you think you are allergic to the antibiotics that is not an allergic reaction that is just common, most doctors i know actually prescribe monistat along with the antibiotic when treating BV
They should have given you something ... That infection can cause miscarriage ..
You will have to get a different medicine bacterial vaginosis is more severe and different then a yeast infection monistat doesn't treat it my doctor said
@mimiz, that explains my last miscarriage. They gave me some med that didn't work. and shortly after I miscarried. Could've always been something else but the only thing wrong with me is that I had BV. @nebanks1226 I wish you the best. if they let you use the gel, it'll treat both you and your husband if you use it during sex. That's how we got rid of my reoccurring BV infection. You can read my story on my posts.
