Has anybody baby had thrush before? My son got thrush at one week old, they prescribed us Nystatin. He's one month today and he still has thrush. idk what to do.
I forget what the medication is called but it's not nystatin for you it's just something you take by mouth. Ask your Dr. About it, I'll try to find out what it was too.
try to wipe it off with a wet wash cloth, if it comes off its just milk residue. if it doesn't it's thrush.
@babyjjsmommy, I'm using the Nystatin cream on my nipples and he's using the liquid. His pediatrician are now prescribing diflucan I hope that helps.
@zeniyahsmommy, it looks like cottage cheese that coats your baby's tongue.
@zeniyahsmommy, it looks like little white spots and patches on baby's lips and/or tongue and cheeks.
You may need to call your doctor and get something for yourself. You may not feel symptoms and have it in your breasts, and so even though you are treating baby he is still being affected because you aren't being treated for it. I went through it 2x with my son and the first time he gave it to me and it was god awful, super painful. The second time I didn't feel any symptoms of having it and so I just kept treating him with the nystatin and anything else I could do, boiling everything multiple times a day, and etc. finally I called my Dr. And got the prescription and within a day or so it went away in his mouth.
@zeniyahsmommy, basically a yeast infection in a baby's mouth, it's very common and mom's can get it in their nipples...@ethensmommy maybe take him back to his ped and they can give him something different? Good luck
@lilaa_dunne16, it has went away on his tongue and the roof of his mouth, but it's still on his cheeks. I sterilize all of his bottle nipples and pacifiers. I just want it to go away. I use Nystatin cream on my nipples also.
My daughter had it for like 3 weeks and we caught it early so it never got bad and she was on Nysastin, eventually it went away and she hasn't had it since, I also put it on my nipples
Mines did. after every feeding wipe his tongue with a warm cloth.

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.
