I left home to go to work at 2:30, my boyfriend got off at 3 so he was home with logan. I left 5 ounce of milk in a bottle and 3 ounce in a bag. I come home at 7 for lunch and see 3 1/2 ounce in a bottle and the whole bag. Boyfriend claims he fed logan 2 ounces in the rice cereal and lied a ton when I asked what he drank. So he ended up saying he ate 2 ounces and drank 1/2. I feel like he's lying. His mom keeps pushing formula and want us to feed him rice cereal more then 1 times as day. They both are making me feels so horrible.
Did they say if yours is gaining too much or not enough?
@ciraclesmiracle i agree. babies grow at their own rate. My mil always says my son doesn't eat enough cause hes skinny and tries to compare him to her other grandson. Hes 2 and super chunky. But me and my SO aren't big. We're petite. Her other grandsons dad is chubby. thats where he gets it from. our dr said our son is right on track with his growth.
@Logansmama, she shouldn't be comparing your son to any other babies. They all grow at their own rate. It's not a competition to get your baby as fat as possible as quickly as possible!
I am! And for him to take his mom aside really sucks. She thinks he need to eat the rice cereal in the morning and night. She's way to pushy
It's breastmilk. I told my bf that I didn't want to do the cereal today because logan only ate cereal and not any milk and that that should not happen. I don't want to do formula at all. She keeps pushing it cause logan isn't gaining weight like crazy, because hes having trouble taking the bottle. And she's always comparing this little girl that she watches to him because she's born a day after him. @andrewsmommy
I started formula at 3 weeks cause cluster feeding ruined my nips lol but either way baby needs milk
I gave my son rice cereal to start solids. After a while he didnt want it anymore. Then I started it in his bottle to get him to sleep longer. Didnt help so we stopped. i agree with @ciraclesmiracle breastmilk is what he should be on or his formula. Baby cant tell them hes hungry!
@Logansmama, I would be absolutely furious if I were you. Why aren't they feeding him the breastmilk before the formula and rice cereal? How do they know he's hungry if they're not even giving him the milk you left especially for him??? No shame to formula feeding mothers--I think formula is fine--but breastmilk is amazing. Our bodies adapt to produce exactly the milk that our babies need on any given day. The fat content and nutrients actually change based upon our baby's saliva, which sends messages to the mother's body to tell it what kind of milk to produce. You cannot buy that in a can! And I agree with @andrewsmommy rice cereal is junk. It's nutritionally devoid and actually keeps baby from adequately absorbing nutrients from breastmilk. You need to get your man to take your side. His mother raised her children as she wanted, and now it's your turn to raise your babies the way you want!
You should stop the cereal. throw it away so she can't give him any. And if she tries to feed him some simply find someone else to take care of him if you can. bf is obviously on his moms side. he should be putting his foot down and telling her no no rice cereal. Baby needs his milk. is it breastmilk or formula? or do you do both
That's what I keep trying to tell them that it's not suppose to replace the milk. I didn't even want to start but bfs mom kept pushing it so I did it to shut her up. It's hard when we live with her.
I don't even know but it makes me feel awful they're like pump more, but I mean what is more gonna do if he doesn't even drink all I already have for him. @ciraclesmiracle and hes almost 5 months and last appointment he weighed 15 pounds
He doesnt even need rice cereal it really doesn't do anything but let baby feel what solids are gonna be. It doesn't really feed them.
That's awful! Why would they want to feed formula when you have nature's perfect food right there for your baby?!?
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

My husband and I aren’t exactly strangers when it comes to relationship challenges 💞. We have been together for 14 years and married for eight, so we’ve definitely gone through some growing pains as we navigated a long-distance relationship in college and our first year living together as a married 👫 couple.
But nothing has challenged our relationship quite like our first year as 👪 parents .

My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her ...
I see so many mommies giving their babies rice cereal to sleep even though it's not recommended? Why?
Did you also get the drs concent to start the rice cereal?
