So we have Eric Jr.'s newborn shoot tomorrow morning so I wanted to try and get to sleep early since I'll be getting up in the middle of the night to feed him. A couple hours ago I was taking a nice hot shower (my favorite part of the day) when my husband pops his head in and tells me one of our dogs attacked a skunk and got sprayed in the mouth and eyes. She also got a small bite in the face. So since he was handling her when he put her in the other bath tub when he came to tell me what happened he stunk up the whole bathroom and mind you it was steamy in there making the scent that much worse. So I get out because my relax time was definitely ruined and done with due to the smell. So for the past few hours we've been trying to get the smell out of the house, he gave her a good bath (but she still reeks) and trying to get her to just chill and relax. Then I'm in the bedroom spraying and lighting candles when I realize she jumped all over the bed before he got her in the bath. I was so grossed out by the smell I told him just to throw away our duvet cover. And now I'm washing the rest of the bed stuff. It's not even in the dryer yet. Ughhh it's going to be a long night!!!! 😖😫😩😤😡

That sucks! Damn Stilski! Fuckin stinky kitties!! The last time Dax got sprayed it was when I was pregnant. Sloane let him out before he went to work, and he had to roust me out of bed at 5am to take care of the mess. I was not impressed. The house stunk for days and Dax had it in his ears and nose and I could smell skunk on him for months since it got so deep in his ears. It's HORRIBLE!

@andrewsmommy, she got a rabies shot not that long ago and it's really a small bite. We called the vet and they said she'd be fine just to keep an eye on her.

@ciraclesmiracle, lol I know right! Oh man our dogs are nuts!! Always on the hunt! I kept looking at her like damn you Stillski you ruined my nights sleep! Lol she ruined her own night poor thing. I got most the scent out of the house but she still kinda smells. I made Eric take her down stairs cause she smells so they're down stairs watching tv and me and the baby are upstairs waiting for my bed stuff to dry. Ugh of course it had to happen tonight when I have to wake up early tomorrow. I'm so bummin right now!!

@andrewsmommy, I know all I want to do is go to bed! At least it's in the dryer now. I honestly wouldn't mind if I didn't have to wake up early.

@kaseylyn, our dogs are maniacs and they never learn their damn lesson!!!! Dax is always so sad after he gets skunked. He gets in the shower and looks at me like, "oh man, I did a dumb thing mama". Hope you get some rest. Can't wait to see the photos!

@ciraclesmiracle, haha yes that's literally what Athen's face looks like right now. I just wrapped her up in a blanket since she's going to have to sleep downstairs tonight lol she was just looking at me like man I fucked up huh mom! I feel so bad for her.

I think it's best to spray them off outside first and use that skunk wash that has to soak for 10 min or so. i can't imagine, I'd get nauseated 😣

@nowmrspost, I was in the shower when it all happened. I wish my husband would've done something like that lol. He almost threw up giving her a bath. The scent is still somewhat lingering this morning. Not stoked about it 😒
