Alright, did any moms have a birth plan? I didn't have a birth plan with my other children and the hospital staff just treated me like another woman having a baby. I want specific needs to be meet with this pregnancy. What are some other things I should put down on my birth plan? 🌺🌸🙂
@motherlotus, do they circumcise then and there at the hospital or does the pediatrician do it weeks after baby's born?
Natural or epidural ..room lighting. Whether you want the cord cut immediately. Vitamin k shot or not
Usually birth plans are made so that hospital staff recognize the needs of the mother instead of just going with the "norm". For instance you could put: immediate skin-to-skin for at least an hour, delayed cord clamping, whether or not you want to keep your placenta, no vit k, no circumcision, don't take baby out of room without mom or support person, no bath right away... just some that I can think of off the top of my head
Birth Plan Rant
I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
Am I the only one that does NOT have a birth plan? I mean I just plan on going with the flow really...
Natural birth? stories/suggestions to get theu it. I'm going to have a natural birth this time around but I am a bit scared of the pain. I put no epidural on my birth plan and trying hard not to edit it LOL
Any of you ladies plan on having or have had a natural or water birth ?! With my first I had an epidural but with this baby I’m having a natural water birth and I am nervousssss! 😳😳😳
Can you ladies share your stories or give some tips ?! Thanks! 😊
Started writing out my birth plan. Hoping to have a natural birth without any drugs. I really hope I don't give in to the epidural or any other drug when the time comes....so nervous. Oh well I just gotta think God made us with the capability to give birth without drugs and that at the end it'll be worth it to have a baby with no drugs in his system. I'll look at it as the first sacrifice I have to make as a mother. No pain no gain right lol
Usually it's done there at the hospital before you go home, or a few days after baby is born. A pedi would do it as well. Either way it is unnecessary :) they push for it though because they like your money.
