so, today my s/o and i got into it because he thinks i hold lincoln (our 3 month baby boy) too often. lincoln really likes being held. but at the same time there are times in the day where lincoln is very independent and quiet. basically my question is ...should i let lincoln cry it out when i know hes fine and just wants to be held or should i continue to hold him when he wants ?!
I hold my baby, he spends time in his chair and laying down. but when he's crying I want to make him feel better. he's only 7 weeks tho
yeaa ,i read about it too !! and babies dont self sooth till 6-9 months!! if i am genuinely busy cooking or cleaning i let him wait and cry until i have time for him. but for me to let him cry it out when im not busy bothers me @sashie
I looked into it a couple of weeks ago and they say babies don't know manipulation until around 6 months or so meaning when he cries it's still ok to pick him up and comfort him as he doesn't yet know any better, answer to your question is pick him up and hold him whenever you feel it's necessary and don't be bothered by what others say mama knows best 😉 @spratalie
mine is 4 months .. hubby and I take turns holding her when she cries. We let her cry in her swing when it's nap time .. and she falls asleep within 5 mins. She moves around from bouncer, activity mat, activity center, and our arms. When she is upset, she likes us to walk around with her, so we do. I don't believe there is an issue. When we are around others, we ensure they try to hold her so she doesnt depend mainly on us. Parent the way you want to and whichever works for you and baby.
