I'm having contractions and period like cramping a few minutes apart but the pain isn't bad enough to make me lose my breath.. This is exactly what it felt like when I went into false labor at 38+5 where I was contracting but my cervix wasn't dilating so I was sent home after 6 hours on the monitor! Im now past my due date and I'm really hoping this is it but it doesn't seem intense enough to be real labor! I don't want to make a trip to the hospital to be sent home again!

Maybe since you are past your due date they would be willing to induce you a few days sooner since you're having contractions. You could also call labor and delivery or go in.
