do bassinets really need sheets like a regular baby bed??? advice

I use sheets for my babies bassinet cuz the plastic cushion could be cold.

My bassinet came with a cover on the padded bedding and I didn't add any sheets. If it's a cold plastic bedding I would but I'm sure it's not necessary.
