Is it bad that when I look at my child I don't smile or feel jumpy with happiness I just kinda feel numb and depressed and full of anxiety all the time I'm a first time mom 18 years old and I do love him but idk I feel distant and just not happy

man y_vanessa, thankyou so much I do feel that exactly and that in inadequate I'm scared to talk to a counselor or physiatrist because I don't want them to take my kid away and deem me as a bad mother ):

Sounds like post partum depression. I had it after having my daughter. Didn't affect me taking care of her but felt nothing in general (really bad time for me my entire pregnancy and after she was born for a few months).if you want to talk you can message me, I'm a listener.

I was like that the first couple of weeks and I felt so guilt for it but I couldn't change it. Luckily for me it just clicked and I don't feel that way anymore. It's normal mama, don't beat yourself up.

Post partum mama. We all get it at some point. I felt a little of the same. I had my son last year in Oct. i was 18 turning 19 a month after. When I had him I cried but I didnt want to hold him much. I think i was just scared and a little down it wasn't thw daughter I wantes. But I loved him regardless. As he got older I started to fall in love with him more. Now we're on baby #2 and I'll be 20 this month. Im excited because now we are having a girl but I'm afraid when she's born the attention I have to give her is gonna make me and my son super distance even though hes a mommas boy
