Question my son is overweight for his age. He doesnt eat drunk food just alot of food. At lunch he had a pb and j and a banana. He is only three years old( just turned 3 in Sept). After eating all his lunch he wants more. Am I being to hard on him for saying he needs to wait in about an hour if he is still hungry he can have a snack? I never had a weight problem till I was an adult same with my husband and I dont want him to be picked on in school one day. So I have always encouraged healthy eating he just has a portion problem.
@ashley2371, yes I agree alot of people give junk but my son has never really liked candy and stuff like that he would take an apple or banana over anything
If you're feeding him healthy foods I wouldn't worry. Make sure it's balanced with a protein, carb, and veggie. He also may be thirsty which can be mistaken for hunger. Make sure he's drinking enough water:) otherwise I think he's just plain good old fashioned hungry. Kudos to you for feeding him good food. I see a lot of sugar and junk going into kids these days👍🏻
He's three. You're lucky he even wants to eat. Most toddlers aren't as easy at that lol. He knows when he's hungry! He's practically a baby still, his pudge will melt away as he gets older and more active.
I'd say to add something else small to his meal, maybe one of those little tiny packs of raisins or a yogurt. He might genuinely still just be hungry. But it is up to you to make sure he isn't overeating, so I don't think you're being too hard or mean.
He has water to drink. I told him if he was hungry in a little bit he can have a snack but I dont think he needs to eat all day.
I don't think that sounds mean. Sometimes kids (just like us) ask for more food and eat cuz they are bored, or sometimes thirty. Maybe offer him some water or something in the mean time?
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Maverick just wants to be held and i have to pump & eat lunch & get a nap in while him & walker are asleep 😩😴
So Charlies started crying when im feeding him solids was getting stressed thinking why wont he eat.. but when i offer him finger foods he will happily eat.. its like he just wants to do it himself! Anyone else had this?
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
My son is 14 months tomorrow and we can hardly get him to eat solid foods on his own. We want to wean him off formula by 18 months and have been trying to get him to snack on small finger foods and he mainly just plays with it or throws it off his tray. Sometimes he will eat it if we give it to him but most of the time he shakes his head no. Any ideas or tips on how to get him more interested in eating? He will eat yogurt bites and cherrios on his own but that's about it.
That's awesome!!!
