Hey ladies, did your work pay you're maternity weekly or monthly? I've just checked my First maternity pay and it's really much lower than I worked out! £172.00 for a month is not at all what I was expecting so I'm wondering if anyone may of had it paid weekly?
My first wasn't planned either @newmommyapril But we can't all be given money because we have children is what I'm saying.
@newmommyapril, same for us we didnt plan to have a baby yet as we just bought a house and still have some debts :/.
It is going to be really hard but I am sure its all worth it 😊 xx
I've been told mine is monthly too at the same rate as @frenchielsa . Could it be that the date you've taken maternity crosses over two months pay by a week or so and they've paid you the difference and you will get your normal rate at a later date? @sara-lou it's not always a conscious choice to have children at a given time... ours was a surprise as I was still taking the pill, we'd just bought a house, and paid for a holiday to America so not the best timing! Of course we've managed and will continue to manage but we had plans to wait until we were in a better position, we won't get any help either. x
my employer has told me ill get my maternity pay the same way i get my pay usually, so thats monthly for me, im just hoping they dont mess it up x
Mine is paid monthly too and I have 6 weeks at 90 % of my salary and 33 weeks at 139 pounds a week x
To be fair it's your choice to have children @mrsnelly2013 If you dont meet the criteria, you won't have help for it. We don't get anything but if we couldn't afford it we wouldn't have had children.
Mine is paid month anyway, but works out £139 a week absolutely rubbish 😔 We have our babies & don't get help for it.
i can choose whether i want weekly or monthly. speak to your employer.
