Am I a bad mom for giving my daughter a pacifier this week? She is having such a tough week with her daddy going on a work trip, not only that but she's teething really bad, plus she got sick but she got over that... but now she has this mysterious rash on her tummy😟 good things I get to end the week with the dr. appointment. the rash is not bumpy tho so maybe it's nothing to be concern about. but she is unusually very easy to irritate right now and not sleeping well. my poor angel 😢
Anyway she's never been interested in pacifics before but for some reason I left a pacifier, long forgotten, by my sink and she pointed to it so i gave it to her. she finds it very entertaining as she likes to inspect it and bite it. it seemed like the right thing at the time since it has been the worst week of her short life so far and could use more soothing than usual but now I'm wondering if that was even smart long term? I feel so conflict about it now😓
My son used a pacifier for months. Newborn until 9 months. He just stopped. I don't personally think anything is wrong with a pacifier. With teething I think they chew it more than suck which may not make them get a long term attachment. If you feel it's ok for right now, give it. Then when life eases back up you just remove it
