I'm feeling really defeated.. Lucas isn't interested in nursing during the day.. I haven't been able to pump more than 2oz per 2 hrs and no more than 3-4 oz for Any longer of a time period.. and his weight is already a worry.. looking to supplement with formula now, I guess that's my only choice..any suggestions for a ebf /sensitive 10 month old tummy when it comes to formula ??
@bri28, thank you hun ! Yes we have had the similar issues. He only gained .5lb between 6 -9 month check up and now I'm sure he's fine as we can see and feel the difference in weight.. but now the issue is he doesn't nurse for more than 5 minutes before refusing . When I pump I only get about an ounce .. so I feel like formula is in our future ..
My baby had a weight problem, actually losing weight. He's EBF and eats all day long, so I couldn't explain. His doctor suggested to do formula, 4oz each day to get his weight up. But I refused the formula and started giving him more "healthy fat" foods, sweet potato, bananas, avocado, bread with coconut oil. He gained over 1lbs in about three weeks. If your little one is eating solids, try that instead of formula. I know food before 1 is just for fun, but my little guy loves it and eats 3 meals a day
Mine lost a whole pound between 6 and almost 9 months. Did he just start doing that? I wouldn't give it up right away. Could be another growth spurt and then they'll eat more or less and refuse the nipple. Mine does that every other day. Takes him forever to latch on. But I keep on trying and if it's 1 hour later, it's 1 hour later. He'll latch on eventually. And whatever you pump doesn't indicate on how much baby is getting out when he does latch on, just keep on trying ☺️
