Does The Epidural Actually Work???? Give Me Story's Ladies
mine did! but hospital i go to give you a button to control the medicine @determined_
completely numbed me. lasted until about an hour or so after delivery!! it was awesome. I never felt a thing
It's not that bad! They gave me a numbing shot at first which was just a tiny pinch, the rest I didn't really feel but it felt kinda u comfortable while they were doing it because, well it's a needle going into your spine. lol. And then I felt a tiny shock in my left foot because he hit a nerve wanting to make sure I wasn't paralyzed and could still feel lol sounds scary but it was worth it! And if you do get it, ask to lay down. Some get it while sitting up but I layed down and was comfy and calm and I just closed my eyes held my husbands hand and breathed
If you ever have any questions or concerns feel free to message me(: even if it is just to vent about your pregnancy @determined_
You can't get it at Walmart but if you go to like a whole food store. I went to Sprouts to get it but I'm not sure if you have those where you live. It's even good PP and helps milk production if your going to BF @determined_
You'll do great!!! After I had my first I knew if I had another one I could do it again and surely I did! I started drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea and it's suppose to tone your uterus to help prepare and make things faster! Every time I would drink it I could feel myself getting a lot of BH. I literally went to the hospital at 430am and had my daughter at 852 that morning. You should check it out! @determined_
Girl don't tell me that!!!!! @nwhite0823 and hmmmmmm I hope I don't have back labor @aiellomorgan
The Epi only worked on half of my back during my first pregnancy (back labor). Recently with my second I got my Epi at 8cm and felt a lot of pressure that was extremely uncomfortable but not enough that I couldn't get through it! I also pushed 15 minutes after I got it and from what I was told that normally the EPI takes 15-25 minutes to take full effect @determined_
yeah and you have to be super still when they insert it or it can paralyze you.
Lol yes. I had the easiest labor ever with my first thank god lol
lol yea that's gonna be the hard part.. @corinasolorio girl owee y'all gone have to pray for me when it's time lol and you had it easy @dcsmommy257
@determined_, you really don't feel it lol it's like 20000x better than an IV. I showed you because these are the things we should know before going into labor. It's important to know your options lol the hard part is sitting still while they put it in then it's over
Lordt NO... I needle in my back.. Jesus Christ Himself gone have to hold my hand through this pregnancy because I'm not going!!! @corinasolorio
It's supposed to numb the bottom half of your body
@determined_, same here but I was convinced to get it after 10hrs because our bp was really high and they were doing to do a csection soon so either way I would be medicated getting the Epi might lower our bp and help us avoid csection. It worked for that I was in labor 15 more hours but avoided csection. And no it's a tube they put in your back and the meds go in through that. You have to be completely still while getting it because it can hurt you if you move.. It was hard for me because I was heavily contracting and it took them four tries to get it in..
best thing I've ever got! my body was fighting the contractions so bad, I got it at 4cm dilated an within 30 minutes I was at a 10! I hardly felt anything an it was awesome.
Okok, I'm debating to get it or not.. I don't like medicines lol I'm a natural remedy type of person.. how does it work thoo? They shoot the meds in your IV or what??? @beautifulone1103 @corinasolorio @ellieinmybelly @nwhite0823 @bentleysmomma
worked for me quite well. once I was 10cm I felt contractions but they weren't as intense as without. I also got the shivers after I got the epidural in for like 2 minutes and again when baby came out for what felt like an hour. but all in all I'd do it again shivers and all. lol.
Mine worked for maybe an hour or two? But I was in labor 25 hours so eh I won't be getting it again wasn't worth it
It worked for my first child but when this baby it helped but once the baby was in the canal I still felt a lot of pressure but no contractions tho.
it works for like an hour during contractions. I feel like it was pointless because I felt everything during labor and contractions. til this day I'm 10months pp and my back hurts like crazyy
it worked for my sister but they gave her a bit to much and once she was in recovery she puked everywhere like she was possessed and it happened to be all over the nurse but she only puked once lol that was pretty much it but it worked for her
I got the epidural around 12-1 pm and it lasted until 10 pm. I gave birth at 8 and I didn't feel a thing at all, just make sure you don't sit up because it works with gravity so when they say me up to get baby lower all the epi went to my legs and o got feeling again in my tummy, so I had to lay back down
yes. mines worked all the way through I was still numb for 10 hours after I had my my daughter
I needs that lol @ashleymonae and thank again @aiellomorgan
