Any mom's up for sharing thier experiences with sleep training? Or a decision not to sleep train? I know it's a controversial topic, just looking for non-devisive conversation from mom's who've tried different approaches.
He will take 3 naps a day sometimes 4 but they are in my arms usually @thenewyorksleepcoach i was focusing on the night more than naps but he seems to be doing great with his bedtime routine other than that 1 quick feed that we r weaning @thenewyorksleepcoach
When my son was a month and a half my pediatrician told me I need to teach him how to self soothe. I started my routine at 630 diaper change bottle then take him upstairs read a bedtime story then lay him down by 7. When he started crying I go up rock him til he calms down then lay him right back in the crib. I repeated it every time he cried. it took about a week for him to learn to self soothe. I now have no problem with naps and bedtime. he also has been sleeping through the night. He goes down at 7pm and wakes up at 7am with a nap from noon to 3. @thenewyorksleepcoach
That's a great age to sleep train. How many naps per day will he take when he does sleep?
@dylansmom, thanks so much for sharing. It's hard to get past these road blocks. I talk to a lot of families who have the same trouble. How old is he?
I started sleep training a week ago and our nights went much better than expected. He still wakes up once a night to eat but i am in the process of weaning him off of that, but kind of hit a roadblock as to the next step, and then our biggest issue has been naps because he will not nap unless i hold him and as soon as he goes in his crib hes wide awake. Even in my arms his naps arent long enough @thenewyorksleepcoach
I do. It's Newyorksleepcoach.com but I'd really love to hear each of your ideas and approaches.
@dylansmom, that's wonderful, if you feel like working with me, nothing makes me happier than knowing I can help tired parents get thier little ones on a great sleep schedule :-)
