Hi everyone!
I finally have a date for my booking scan. it's on 29/10. I'll be 10w2d. Just wondering what happens at this appointment and most importantly does the midwife use a dopler? My scan isn't until 7/11 and I really wanna know the baby is ok before then.
well that's what they say bbe so I wouldn't know if they saying the truth or not. But you can ask them ur self when u go there just say is it possible for you to try and listen for the heartbeat and see whet they say. May be ur midwife will still try it u know it's worth trying it 😉 x

Thanks guys. I kinda assumed re the paperwork but I was really hoping for the dopler. Weird how they don't do it before week 16. I've been looking into doplers online as I really wanna get one and according to most models they can pick up the baby's heartbeat from 10-12 weeks and they're quite cheap as well. From about £30 upwards. I've read some mums comment that they could find baby's heartbeat from as early as week 9. You'd think the nhs machines which apparently cost £400+ each should be able to do so.
paperwork, test your urine, take blood and they'll work out your due date they don't go anywhere near a dopler til your 16 weeks as can't hear anything before then x
hey. The midwife will ask u a lot of questions, take ur urine and blood. Basically they will start ut pregnany folder with u but unfortunately they won't listen to the baby heart beat 😕 you will have to wait for ur scan to see the baby and hear the heart beat for the first time 😊x
@ttcrainbowbaby, that's why midwives don't advise you buy and use a dopler at home as most companies lie and mums end up worrying when they can't find a heartbeat early so go to the hospital, normally before 16 weeks it's your heartbeat or your digestive system that you hear especially before 12 weeks as baby is still under the pelvis so can't hear anything then x
