my 5 year old nephew has a bad habit of licking his lips and it has made the skin around his lips real red. is there anything that we can do to treat the redness?

Ridiculously chapped lips Help me! This has been going on for months but only intensified since getting pregnant. I have tried so many different types of chapsticks, lip balms, moisturizers, lip masks and treatments, and even some all natural methods, but nothing has helped. I literally have chunks of skin peeling off my lips. This has never happened to me before.
My son has/had thrush it looks like it’s going away. But on his top and bottom lip in the inside has red sores. But it’s like his lip is cut. Is that a sign that it’s going away??
What are the signs of teething? Noah has rosey red cheeks, dribbling ALOT, tries to put everything in his mouth and has random cry outbursts?
