Bigger size VS Maternity clothes?
I know it's just bloat and boobs at this point but my clothes are already tight at the belly and bust. Not straight away as I'm rocking the fitted look but soon enough I'll need bigger clothes. Since I'm not showing I'm thinking I'm just gonna get a bigger size but all this did make me wonder what everyone else did?
At how many weeks did you need to buy more clothes? Did you get maternity clothes or did you just buy bigger sizes? Did you need to buy numerous times in your pregnancy? I'd ask my sister's but they pretty much lived in muu muu's and maxi's from the second they started showing. I'd rather not do that. It's OK for home but outside.... I'd like to look like I'd made an effort.
I started buying around 24 weeks but still even if I did, I didn't really want to spend a lot on maternity wear. I'm petite, pre-preg I wore size 6 or 8 and for the maternity clothes I fit in the XS category. You should try checking online discount sites like vente-prive.com or showroomprive.com (dunno if they have it there). I once bought a pair of maternity jeans, a nursing bra, mat. knickers, and a nursing top (Noppies-Esprit brand) all for 21€ including postage from the site! Worth a look. 😉
I just bought stretchy, lose clothes & bigger sizes so much cheaper than maternity clothes. Only spent a lot on maternity bras xx
at the first trimester I just bought bigger size and strechy cloths...when I was about 17 weeks I bought 2 pair of maternity jeans and few tops I didn't buy a lot of maternity cloths because it's expensive and u won't wear it for to long then u gona have to give it away so it's not worth it so I just end up buying my size tops which is size 10 and jusckets but strechy ones so I can wear after birth. 😆😉
@karenb1601, yeah its such a better idea as maternity clothes are not cheap either! anything comfortable 😁
@ttcrainbowbaby, I brought large sizes and they have all done me and still going. it would all depend on the size of your bump i guess.
I've always been good with a size 10/12 but before pregnancy I was 8/10. My bump is quite big. Some reason I was a size 14 jeans in H&M but normally I'm a 10/12 in maternity. I bought from H&M, Gap and Asos, but like the other ladies if I fall pregnant again I'll probably just wear baggy tops. Leggings from H&M have been a godsend to me. I only bought a few tops but that's because I had parties and places to go, I won't be buying so many clothes again xx
@ttcrainbowbaby, a couple of pairs of jeans, which i still wear now (4 months post delivery) and a shirt. the rest was just loose tops from matalan and loose trousers from h&m x
I've only bought 2 pairs of maternity jeans in new look sale, everything else is loose fitted tops tunics and leggings from primark @tycrainbowbaby and my winter jacket is from next bought it in my normal size but they sell a panel that zips on to make it a maternity coat so it will do when pregnant and once I've given birth :) x
@karenb1601 🙈 I'm always in my pj's at home so I'll be with you there. lol. which items of maternity clothing did you buy?
@tiffany84331, i only bought 3 maternity items. everything else i just bought loose fitting tops and elasticated waist trousers. spent most of my pregnancy in my pjs when i wasnt at work lol x
@tiffany84331 I'd like to avoid wasting money too. But what did you do for tops and dresses? I'd imagine they'd look disproportionate once you get a belly?
with first pregnancy i got a few maternity clothes like jeans and tops ect this time around I was not prepared to spend and waste money on something i wouldn't wear again unless I had another baby, so i just brought bigger sizes in the sale from H&M and with jeans i got a maternity belt! i would say its cheaper and more comfortable and would defo do it that way again x
I bought bigger clothes for first trimester, maternity bottoms for second, still in the bigger clothes top wise now for work (factory work and cheap tops from sports direct) have got a few maternity tops but not many
