Why is it a trend to make fake pregnancy announcements on Facebook 🤔🤔🤔

Been trying to figure that out for the longest. I was told a girl in my hometown faked her pregnancy for the longest. She allowed ppl to throw her numerous baby showers. She took ppl's gift and had a maternity shoot. Ppl didn't question her until 2 weeks after her supposed "due date". Then someone put it out that she was never pregnant. And the sad thing is she has kids. You just don't play with ppl and allow them to spend their money and time on you and everything is a lie. That's not cool at all. Very disrespectful

Gah I saw 2 people do them. One was sort of giggle-able because she got married the week before and just had a grandkid. The second was really dumb.

I've seen about 5 to 6 on my feed. It's just a long behind post saying the person is 13 weeks at the ER just found out it's LONG and it says at the end "because people won't read this to the end they won't know I'm just playing" , some dumb mess!
