My mom kept my little brothers crib from when he was a baby. It's practically brand new since he couldn't stand to be in his crib.
She has had it stored in her basement, so I plan to buy a new mattress for it. But my question is, if I were to paint the crib white (it's currently a brown), is there a certain paint I should use to keep the fumes down?

I'd look for something kid safe for sure. They tend to bite the edges of the crib and can chip off the paint. Try finding one that's non toxic if eaten. Try going to Menards or Home Depot ask the associates they'll know better.
