has anyone ever gave you're child this at 2 months??? my midwife said that it can make my son fat and his guts can't handle it yet because its a 4 months food. my mother is going to feed my child this tonight because my son doesn't get filled up with the formula. she gave me oatmeal when I was a baby so i dont see the problem. she said that this will help him sleep longer at night. I keep hearing that people feed their baby this at 2 months too.

I'm glad you're sticking with just the formula! Don't even consider solids until 4 months, and that's with your pediatrician's say so. My pedi said if my son is showing interest in our food at 4 months, we can try, but 6 months is the norm. Keep feeding that baby formula, mama. Your little love will sleep through the night and whatnot sooner than you know. Soak that special night time bonding up.
and I won't be getting the rice then.
I'm not going to give it to him anymore until he's older. I'm not going to keep dumping the full bottle out because he don't like it. I'm going to stick with the formula I guess.
I know it can be exhausting feeding him constantly but I promise it is the best thing for him!
Rice cereal has traces of arsenic in it, so it's not recommended by doctors anymore. Newborns are not suppose to be full for long periods of time, they just are not made that way. They need to be nourished constantly. He is too young for any type of cereal and doesn't need it. It really has no nutritional value and is just a filler. Your midwife is right, his little tummy is not ready to process grains!
but he only ate little bit of it because he don't like it.

I recommend rice cereal not oatmeal...rice is easier on the stomach and easier to digest we started it at 3 weeks and he did fine but was told never to start oatmeal until 4 months
