my manager unintentionally gave me a hard time about having to pump at work. she legitimately didn't understand how lactation works (she's never had kids) so she doesn't understand how important pumping is. at one point she even said "it's just not reasonable for you to take a break every 2 hours to go pump", of course i know all my breastfeeding rights and i know that i absolutely can, and will, pump every 2 hours. i just really don't want to have to throw the law in anyone's face. i don't want to be a "well it's MY right..." type of person. of course i'm going to try to explain everything first and be as flexible as i can be, but this is a big deal, this is my daughter's source of nourishment. if i don't pump, and lose my supply, then she can't exclusively breastfeed which is what i've decided, as her mother, is what's best for her. it's just, the last thing i want is to have to "fight" for my right.
