Anyone else get disappointed when someone says they can't make it to a party your working hard to throw. I've been working on my baby shower for 3 months now and every time someone says they can't make it, I get so disappointed. It's even worse when it's family that bails on you. Im not even sad because its one less gift, i get upset because ive been putting a lot of time and energy into this.Just a rant
My shower was 90 people, it cost us $3000, most people didn't bring gifts, people came in groups, some people I considered good friends didn't show up. It was catered and people brought food home and my partner and I didn't even get to eat and left hungry to mc Donald's afterwards. We could have bought everything ourselves and ditched the party but it's both of our first. People are totally inconsiderate and if I could go back in time I'd have let someone else throw it or just not had one at all. I hope yours goes better.
@sharkysavage, right! I sent out invites 3 months ago! and I'm getting people saying no now with my shower in 5 days. it's really inconsiderate when people say they are coming and then don't show up because we buy food and such accordingly. I almost didn't have a shower this time around because I didn't want to stress over getting things and wasting money but my boyfriend convinced me I deserved one yet now it's looking like it's going to be 12 people
that's why I wanted to keep it small this time around, I wasn't going to spend hundreds of dollars to entertain people on a day about our baby when I'd rather spend that money buying everything I need or want. I'm sorry your first experience with a shower wasn't amazing :/
