my milk is offically in! yay! but I don't have a pump until next wed and baby isnt feeding for very long yet. can I hand express into a bottle and save it? I don't want to waste it. also she spit a little up the last 2 times I feed her. is that normal when your milk comes in? I can't remember if it happened with my son or not.
True! My suggestion is to let out just a little in the shower or over the sink with warm water. Over pumping might trigger your body to over produce, then you'll be a slave to your pump. If you want to save it, you can totally express into a container!
@sam.g, that doesn't help me hand express because my daughter can't latch onto these rocks... lol
I read not to pump until 6 weeks too. I got the Lansinoh gel things and l
put them in the freezer, holy glorious!
I was starting pumping second day after delivery, my lactation consultant from hospital gave me manual breast pump and told me to pump when I'm feeling to full, your supply regulate after few weeks, I never heard about wanting 6 weeks! it sounds bit long for me. if you ended up with low supply (during 6w not pumping), you will have to supplement with formula bc you will not have any extra milk. idk but I will give a call to lactation consultant you should have her number from hospital, if not you can call L&D and they should give you her number, you can also ask about free manual breast pump or you can buy one (they are not expensive) they are good use for pumping in car or when you're visiting someone (it's small and don't make sound 😉)
about hand expressing, yes you can express straight to bottle or freezer bag
That would be fine I believe. Experts just say not to pump before six weeks just so your supply has time to regulate. If you pump to soon it could cause an oversupply which comes with issues on its own.
@chelz_renae, can I express into a bottle though or is that not recommended?
Pumping is not recommended for the first six weeks. If you feel full and baby isn't eating or didn't empty you then you can hand express to relieve discomfort. @lexij
Not saying I don't breast feed but I mainly do it on demand pretty much when I feel my milk filling back up.... ok?

Losing my milk 😢, I seriously don't want to formula feed... I hope my Walmart or Shaws has this tea
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

took me 10 minutes to pump this from both breast after feeding Ethan for 25 minutes. My milk supply is going crazy yesterday I pumped 8 bottles my milk stash is going to be great
so my husband wants to feed are baby but the thing is that I will be breastfeeding so idk how it would work. he was thinking that when he wants to feed him he would give him formula but I just want my baby to have breast milk. so then he said why don't you pump your milk out and I'll feed it to him and i thought that would be the best thing but then I'm scared that my baby will get use to the bottle. I need help idk what to do because my husband really wants to feed him :/ and we need to come up...
